Training & Agility Training Sessions

Dog Training at Grassgarth

At Grassgarth, we offer one-to-one dog training tailored to you and your dog’s individual needs. Whether you are looking for help with basic manners, lead work, recall, confidence building or managing unwanted behaviours, our aim is to provide practical, supportive training using positive reinforcement methods that work for both you and your dog.

With over 30 years of experience, Hilary takes the time to speak with you properly to understand your dog, the difficulties you may be having, and what you would like to achieve from training. Every dog is different, so we believe it is important to look at the whole picture — your dog’s personality, routine, behaviour and home environment — before putting together a plan that is right for you.

Training begins with an assessment of your dog and a discussion about your goals. From there, Hilary will work with you to create a training plan suited to your dog’s needs and your own experience and confidence as an owner. Sessions are practical and hands-on, with clear guidance and demonstrations to show you exactly how to work with your dog, as well as advice and pointers to help you continue that training at home.

Our approach is calm, understanding and realistic, with a focus on building confidence, improving communication and helping you get the best from your dog to create a well rounded, balanced companion you can truly enjoy. Whether your dog is young and just getting started, or older and needing support with a particular issue, we aim to give you the knowledge and support to move forward with confidence.

We also have a full set of agility equipment built to competition standard. One-to-one agility training is available, where we can guide you through how to use the equipment safely and correctly, helping both you and your dog build confidence and progress in your training.

If you would like to discuss training for your dog, please get in touch and we will be happy to talk through how we can help.
